Summary

Aztec Group launched Aztec Xtract, an AI-powered platform designed to automate the extraction, validation, and reporting of complex financial data. To support the product’s introduction to the market, Aztec required a compelling brand identity and engaging promotional materials. The project involved creating a cohesive visual identity and high-quality animations to effectively communicate Aztec Xtract’s value proposition.

Objectives

The primary deliverables of the project were:

  • Establish a distinct and tech-forward visual identity for Aztec Xtract.

  • Create engaging animated content that simplifies complex data processes.

  • Develop a suite of promotional and digital assets, including:

  • A short teaser video (30–45 seconds) for social media.

  • A long-form promotional video (1.5–2.5 minutes) for client presentations and internal education.

  • Foleon site assets.

  • Xtract PowerPoint presentation.

  • Xtract web assets and platform images.

  • Social media assets (both static and animated).

  • Email assets.

Audience

Aztec Xtract was positioned for Pension Funds, Institutional Investors, and their intermediaries, including Funds of Funds (FoF) Managers and Secondary Managers. The content needed to appeal to financial professionals by conveying trust, efficiency, and innovation.

Ideation

The visual concept was inspired by a reference video provided by Aztec Group. The goal was to create a modern, AI-driven aesthetic that balanced innovation with Aztec’s corporate identity. The animation highlighted the four core stages of Aztec Xtract:

  1. Document Acquisition – AI-driven data collection from multiple GP sources.

  2. Data Extraction – Automated processing of large data volumes.

  3. Specialist Validation – Expert fund accountants ensuring data accuracy.

  4. On-Demand Analytics – Presenting insights through a digital dashboard.

A key creative element was the development of a 3D animated representation of an Aztec Xtract-branded microchip. The animation showcased the chip opening up to reveal its internal layers, symbolising the platform's structured, intelligent data processing capabilities.

Messaging

The messaging was developed by Aztec’s internal marketing team, emphasising efficiency and accuracy:

  • Extracting data with efficiency.

  • Validating it with precision.

3D Design

All 3D assets were custom designed, modelled, textured, and rendered in Cinema 4D, giving Aztec full ownership of the assets. By building everything in 3D from the ground up, we had complete creative control over camera angles, dynamic close-ups, and we could repurpose the asset across a wide range of formats and platforms. This not only ensured visual consistency but also gave the brand a scalable, future proof asset library that could evolve with its campaigns and keep content feeling fresh, varied, and cohesive.

Storyboards

Working from the client supplied script, I developed a series of storyboards that visually interpreted key themes and messaging. Each frame was designed to reflect the tone and rhythm of the narrative, using imagery that echoed the script’s keywords and ideas. This early visual planning stage was essential in aligning the creative direction with the client’s vision, ensuring a smooth transition into production.

Animation

A suite of animations was developed for use across social media and a dedicated campaign landing page. Each version was tailored to a specific audience segment, with variations in script and voiceover to match tone and messaging. The animation style was intentionally clean, clear, and easy to follow. Every movement was crafted to support the narrative and maintain brand consistency, ensuring the final output was both engaging and accessible across platforms.

Final Showcase

The campaign met all objectives by delivering a cohesive, visually engaging solution that brought clarity and impact to every touchpoint. A wide range of collateral was created including presentations, HTML ads, social media assets, product videos, website visuals, and an email campaign all designed to communicate the platform’s benefits clearly and consistently across channels.

Strong visual language, clear messaging, and thoughtful animation helped unify these assets under a single creative vision. The final presentation showcased how the campaign worked holistically across each pillar, staying true to Aztec’s brand while bringing energy and focus to the launch. Animation played a key role in reinforcing the platform’s simplicity, efficiency, and innovation, ensuring Aztec Xtract not only resonated with stakeholders but supported Aztec’s broader vision
for modernisation and growth.
