Summary

Aztec's banking and treasury department set out to modernise its platform and workflows, aiming to reflect the core principles of the company. A campaign was launched to introduce the new centralised banking practices to internal teams and clients.

Objectives

Aztec’s primary goal was to transition to a centralised banking model with a new, tech enabled platform. This transition is vital for supporting Aztec's continued growth.

Audience

The campaign targets internal stakeholders, clients, and potential clients.

Key Message: Aztec’s client banking is defined by ease, timeliness, simplicity, intelligence, and security. Centralisation improves operational efficiency and promotes smarter work processes.

  • Style: The campaign aligns with Aztec’s branding while drawing inspiration from fintech companies like Revolut, Stripe, and Monzo, emphasising technological innovation and expertise.

  • Requirements: The campaign includes concepts, branded assets (logos, banners, wallpapers, animations), video content (teasers, launches, training), and templates (PowerPoint, user guides). These are necessary for the pilot launch in February.

  • Timelines: Initial concepts must be ready within 2-3 weeks for the pilot launch, with the full campaign launching by the end of April 2024.

Aztec Diamond Motif

The Aztec Diamond is a geometric shape, made up of three interlocking diamonds that represents the key aspects of Aztec: administration, accountancy, and compliance.

Brand Sprint

A brand sprint was organised to define the framework for the Aztec Banking Hub, aligning key sectors like Payments, Treasury, Operations, and Data. A workshop followed, presenting mood boards that resonated with the brand’s personality. The workshop helped define the core elements of the brand.

Ideation

The brand sprint informed the ideation process, providing a clear direction for visuals and key brand messages. A centralised device was designed to serve as the core asset for the Banking Hub, ensuring it aligned with the geometric Aztec diamond motif. The design incorporated the Aztec brand’s colours, triangles, and kaleidoscope pattern, with a transparent texture to reflect the clarity and transparency of the new banking platform.

Logo Mark

From the ideation process, a simplified logo mark was created, derived from the centralised device.

Messaging

The messaging was clear and concise, with a structured approach to highlighting the benefits of each pillar. The focus was on crafting an elevator pitch, for Payments, the tagline "Approve and Streamline Payments" highlighted service benefits. For Treasury, "Take Control and Achieve Maximum Value" emphasised client empowerment, ensuring the messaging was direct and impactful.

The Banking Hub

This slide demonstrated the flexibility of the Banking Hub brand elements, showcasing how they integrate with existing imagery, dashboards, and the Aztec brand. The result was a cohesive visual identity, consistent across all platforms.

Payments

The Payments pillar remained consistent with the brand's layouts and colour schemes but tailored imagery to reflect the speed and efficiency of payments. The focus on clarity reinforced the brand’s commitment to simplicity and streamlined financial transactions.

Final Showcase

The campaign met all objectives by delivering a cohesive and visually engaging solution. Clear messaging, strong visuals, and branded assets ensured the platform's benefits were effectively communicated to all stakeholders.

The final presentation showcased the creative work across all pillars, maintaining consistency with Aztec's branding. Animation added a dynamic layer, bringing the campaign to life and reinforcing the platform’s simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. This approach ensured the Banking Hub resonated with its audience and supported Aztec's vision for growth and modernisation.
